The question

What does it actually mean to live a healthy and happy life?

Thomas Kane has spent more than two decades exploring one question: What does it actually mean to live a healthy and happy life? The answer did not arrive as a single program or set of rules. It emerged through years of personal experimentation, travel, community, entrepreneurship, and paying attention to what makes people feel fully engaged with their lives.

Health is not the destination. It is what gives you the ability to enjoy the destination.

A bigger life—not a smaller one—is the point of taking care of yourself.

A journey that started in 2003

Thomas’s journey began in 2003 in raw-food and natural-living communities across the United States, then expanded through extended wellness experiences in Costa Rica and Bali. He was interested in more than theories about health. He wanted to understand what different ways of eating, moving, resting, and living felt like in practice.

During three trips to Costa Rica, Thomas worked alongside more than 60 participants undertaking extended fasting programs. He also studied iridology through the Bernard Jensen Institute in California. For four years, he followed a 100% raw-food lifestyle and developed extensive hands-on experience preparing raw and whole foods.

When doing everything ‘right’ is not enough

That chapter left Thomas with a lasting lesson: health is not the destination. It is what gives you the ability to enjoy the destination.

A person can eat perfectly and still be miserable. They can be fit and still be chronically stressed. They can build a successful career and forget how to enjoy the life around it. A long list of rules is not much use if following it makes the world feel smaller.

Health should make the world bigger

The version of health behind Healthy as Hell is practical and expansive: enough energy to climb a volcano, stand under a waterfall, explore somewhere unfamiliar, laugh with other people, enjoy a good meal, and wake up feeling alive.

That means bringing movement, nourishing food, adventure, recovery, connection, discipline, and happiness into the same conversation. It also means leaving perfection behind. The aim is not to collect the most rules. It is to become strong, healthy, curious, and happy enough to live more.

A builder as well as an explorer

Alongside that personal health journey, Thomas has spent about 17 years building and operating digital marketing businesses in Arizona and Kansas. That entrepreneurial background shaped the way he thinks about turning a big idea into a useful experience: pay attention, build deliberately, communicate clearly, and keep improving what happens in the real world. It also reinforced a harder lesson: achievement means very little when it comes at the expense of your health, relationships, or ability to enjoy your life.

Healthy as Hell brings those two tracks together. It is a health, happiness, adventure, and lifestyle company built around a straightforward belief: taking care of yourself should give you more life to participate in.

In Thomas’s words

You can lose a job. You can lose money. You can lose possessions and rebuild them. But a life without health or happiness becomes very small. My goal with Healthy as Hell is simple: help people build lives they actually feel good being alive for.
