The retreat

A week with a pulse.

Healthy as Hell Bali is an adventure-forward health retreat built around a simple idea: your health should make your world bigger. We are pairing daily movement and whole-food meals with the kind of experiences that make a week memorable—waterfalls, Mount Batur, hot springs, ocean time, and a small crew of good humans.

This is not a yoga intensive, a clinical program, or a transformation promise. It is a proposed, thoughtfully paced route with enough structure to make the trip easy and enough freedom to let Bali feel like Bali.

Keeping the group to 10–12 paying guests makes room for real conversation, practical support, and logistics that feel human. Solo travelers are welcome; the format is designed to make joining the group feel natural.

Meet Your Host

Thomas Kane, founder of Healthy as Hell.

Thomas Kane has been involved in health, fitness, and natural living since 2003. His background includes raw and whole-food nutrition, extended wellness programs, fitness, entrepreneurship, and international travel.

Healthy as Hell grew from a broader idea: health should not be a life of deprivation or a performance of perfection. It should give you the energy, strength, and happiness to experience more.

Thomas will host the Healthy as Hell experience. Appropriately qualified local partners will operate specialist activities once suppliers are contracted; Thomas is not presented as a medical provider, mountain guide, or boat operator.

In Bali, that means we’re not spending seven days talking about living.

We’re going to go live.

Find your fit

For the curious, not the perfect.

An honest fit matters more than filling every room. Read both sides before you raise your hand.

This may be for you if…

  • You want an active week with room to breathe, not a boot camp with a beach attached.
  • Waterfalls, an early mountain start, warm water, good food, and island time all sound like your kind of balance.
  • You are comfortable traveling with a small group and participating in shared experiences.
  • You may be arriving solo and want connection without forced fun.
  • You want practical habits and a personal 30-Day Reset to take home.

This is probably not for you if…

  • You are looking for a yoga intensive, detox, weight-loss promise, or punishment workout week.
  • You need every hour, property, supplier, and activity guaranteed before final contracts are signed.
  • You want a fully sedentary resort stay with no uneven ground, stairs, early starts, or active days.
  • You would rather avoid shared meals, group conversations, and a little healthy unpredictability.

The proposed route

Green center. High ground. Island air.

The route moves from arrival through central Bali and onward to Nusa Lembongan. Every stop remains subject to final contracts, conditions, and safe operation.

8 days / 7 nights

A sample itinerary with a spine—not a chokehold.

These labels describe the intended rhythm. Timing, order, operators, and activities can change as contracts, weather, sea conditions, and safety require.

Day 1

Arrive / Reset

Land, settle in, meet the crew, eat something good, and let your nervous system catch up with your passport.

Day 2

Move / Waterfalls

An easy mobility session, a nourishing breakfast, and a waterfall adventure paced for curiosity—not competition.

Day 3

Challenge / Mount Batur / Hot Springs

An early start for the proposed Mount Batur sunrise hike, followed by food, warm water, and a very earned exhale.

Day 4

Nourish / Recover

A slower central-Bali day for whole-food meals, mobility, local culture, optional recovery, and room to wander.

Day 5

Escape / Nusa Lembongan

Travel toward the water, cross to Nusa Lembongan, and trade the inland rhythm for island air.

Day 6

Explore / Snorkeling / Dream Beach

A proposed reef excursion, island exploration, and time at Dream Beach—with conditions and safety leading the plan.

Day 7

Freedom / Celebrate

A flexible day to move, rest, explore, laugh, and celebrate a week that felt much bigger than a week.

Day 8

Take It Home

Close the circle, finish your personal 30-Day Reset, and leave with a plan that survives contact with real life.

Places shaping the route

The mountain. The warm water. The island edge.

These are the three locations Thomas shared for the working route. They are possibilities, not promises: no venue, operator, access plan, or inclusion is final until contracts and safety review are complete.

Pre-dawn challenge

Mount Batur at sunrise

A before-dawn Mount Batur climb is the proposed high point of Day 3: real effort, volcanic terrain, and a sunrise that weather never owes us.

Thomas’s shared link is for a specific trekking operator. No operator, route, or access arrangement has been selected or contracted.

Post-hike reset

Batur Natural Hot Spring

Batur Natural Hot Spring is one of the places Thomas shared for the working post-hike recovery stop in the Lake Batur area.

Area context only: this photograph shows Lake Batur, not the named hot-spring facility. The venue and its inclusion remain unconfirmed.

Island edge

Dream Beach

Dream Beach is a proposed Day 6 stop on Nusa Lembongan—a dramatic piece of coastline to enjoy with conditions, not a guaranteed swim.

Timing, transport, access, and swimming guidance remain subject to the final route and conditions on the day.

Before you commit

Comfort, challenge, and clear expectations.

Final requirements will be published before booking opens. Nothing below replaces medical, legal, or insurance advice.

Activity level

Active, not extreme. Expect walking, stairs, uneven and potentially wet ground, outdoor heat, boat transfers, and an early proposed Mount Batur hike. You do not need to be an athlete, but gradual preparation matters.

Room types

Proposed options are shared rooms, private rooms, and a limited premium-suite category. Exact room layouts, sharing arrangements, accessibility, and inventory depend on the contracted properties.

Weather & flexibility

February is within Bali’s wetter season. Warm weather, rain, trail conditions, visibility, and sea conditions can all reshape a day. The final itinerary will favor good judgment over forcing a photo opportunity.

Safety & insurance

Qualified suppliers, current conditions, and participant safety will guide final activities. Suitable travel insurance is expected to be required; review medical care, evacuation, cancellation, delay, and planned-activity coverage carefully.

Retreat FAQ

Good questions deserve straight answers.

The retreat is still being contracted. Where a detail is not final, we say so.

01Are the February 2027 dates confirmed?

Not yet. February 2027 is the target window. Founders-list members will receive exact dates and final details first, before any booking decision is required.

02How fit do I need to be?

You do not need to be an athlete. You should be comfortable walking on uneven ground, handling stairs, spending active time outdoors, and preparing gradually for an early Mount Batur hike. We will publish final activity requirements when suppliers and routes are confirmed.

03Can I come solo?

Yes. The small-group format is designed to make arriving solo feel natural. You can request a shared room or choose a private room, subject to availability.

04Is airfare included?

No. International airfare, passports, visas, insurance, and pre- or post-retreat travel are not included. We will provide a clear arrival window and planning guidance once dates are contracted.

05Is this a yoga or weight-loss retreat?

No. Movement and mobility are part of the week, but this is not a yoga intensive, boot camp, detox, or weight-loss promise. It is an active, balanced week built around feeling more alive.

06Can I pay a deposit?

A deposit and payment schedule are being considered, but no payment terms are final and no payments are being accepted yet. Join the founders list to receive the confirmed offer first.

07Will travel insurance be required?

The final participant terms are expected to require suitable travel insurance for an active international trip. Coverage requirements will be stated before booking; review any policy carefully for medical care, evacuation, delays, cancellation, and planned activities.
