Texas travelers may have access to several large airports, but more airport choices do not automatically create a simple Bali itinerary. Dallas–Fort Worth, the Houston area, Austin, San Antonio, and regional origins can produce different gateway strategies. Compare the complete chain, not only the longest flight.
Choose a gateway you can reach reliably
A major hub may offer more schedules and a protected international itinerary. It may also require a long drive, paid parking, a domestic positioning flight, or an overnight stay. Consider your distance from the airport, departure time, traffic, baggage, severe-weather exposure, and how the return drive will feel after long-haul travel.
If an itinerary uses separate tickets, identify where bags must be collected and how much time is needed to recheck them. Confirm transit requirements for each country. A connection that looks legal in a booking engine may still be uncomfortably tight for immigration, security, a terminal change, or disruption.
Arrive ready for a different kind of heat
Texans know heat, but Bali's humidity, tropical rain, traffic, and volcanic elevation create a different mix. Continue preparing for hills and stairs at home, then pace the first days according to travel fatigue. Light breathable clothing, wet-weather traction, sun protection, and a warm layer for a pre-dawn mountain start all have roles.
Do not connect straight from an international arrival to a fragile island-boat plan. DPS immigration, baggage, customs, and road travel need margin, and sea conditions add another variable.
What the retreat may simplify
The proposed retreat brings group movement between central Bali and Nusa Lembongan into one itinerary, reducing the number of local operators a guest must coordinate. The final offer will specify meeting points, included transfers, baggage limits, and delay support. It will not include international airfare.
No Texas departure airport, airline, route, schedule, or fare is endorsed yet. Wait for confirmed dates, then compare live options and insurance terms for your own origin and needs.
